Micah's first year of Life

I cannot believe that in 13 days, this precious little boy will reach one year old! This year has flown by for us! My baby is now a toddler!

I just want to say that I cannot believe that one year ago, I went into labor and after many, MANY hours, Rico and I held our baby boy! This year has been AMAZING! Micah went from being able to do nothing on his own to now holding his bottle, feeding himself (somewhat), almost walking on his own, talking.... There's countless things that he does that amazes us daily! He just now crawled over to me as I am working on this blog, sat down, laid his head on my shoulder, and fell asleep. Can life really be any better than this? I feel like life really is complete when I look at Micah. It's so wonderful to know that one day, this trend will go on for my own child. I can't wait til the day he gets to see all of this for himself. I do hope it will be when he is ready. What a joy it will be for him one day. I am recalling how Micah used to eat. When he was done drinking his milk, he'd shake his head upward. It reminded us of how a baby bird would eat. I remember that he was a very early mover. He rolled over way before most babies his age did and sat up on his own and crawled a little earlier than the kids I know his age did. Micah still however does not 'talk' like the other kids his age but he sure does babble! Micah's very inquisitive and loves to mess with the things that Rico and I are playing with at the moment. He loves to get a hold of our playstation controllers and eat them. He loves to mess with the computer when we're on it. He LOVES to try to eat whatever we're eating. I love how he's playing with other kids his age and loves all the attention he gets when we go out somewhere. He sure loves to talk (babble) to anyone and everyone that will listen to him. My child is precious.

Micah looks nothing like he did when he was born and he's only one year old! When he was born, Micah was completely white in color and had the chinkiest eyes we'd ever seen! But as of day two, he'd already started getting some color. He now is darker than I am. Not by much but he is darker skinned than me. He has pretty big spiral curls on the top of his head. He has big eyes that are completely round like his daddy's. I believe he has my mom's nose and my round face. He has his daddy's oval shaped head, and he has one deep dimple in his right cheek that melts my heart. I cannot believe how much his looks has changed! He, seriously, is more handsome everyday!

Micah is now roaming around the house with his walker toy like he owns the place. He and his cousin, Livy were chasing each other with the walkers the other day! Micah will take that thing all the way down the street with me! He's taking a few more steps nowadays on his own, but he still won't completely walk without his walker toy. He loves playing with his legos and his purple dinosaur that sings and dances (NOT Barney). And Micah's all time favorite tv show is still Yo Gabba Gabba. We'll be doing his first birthday in Yo Gabba Gabba decor.

We are soo blessed to have Micah Ly. Thank you, Lord for him.
