Ahhh! My baby is 10 months old!!! There is just so much to write and such little time! This last month has been really busy for us! Micah is still walking with his walker toys and he can play with all the knobs and knick-knacks on all his toys! He does this really cute thing when he puts his arm through the hole in his toy guitar and swings it around on his arm! ADORABLE! Micah can do sit ups on his own! Man, is this kid strong!! He loves to play and explore people's faces! Micah LOVES Nick Jr (tv channel)... His favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba... And is it horrible to admit that I go through the house, grocery store, getting gas.... etc... singing all of their songs??? lol... I can't tell you what comes on the radio but I sure can sing all of the Yo Gabba Gabba songs for ya! Micah weighed 15lbs 12oz at his 9 1/2 month check up. He's in the 50-75% for height and 50% for head circumference. I can't remember the actual measurements. Isn't that horrible??
This month I've been trying to get Micah back on his schedules. He had been sick for the last two months on and off and I was just happy to have my healthy, happy baby back! Micah goes to sleep between 9-10 pm each night and sleeps til 8am! Man does that make for a happy mommy and happy baby! He eats around 8:30 am and goes down for another nap around 10am. At Noon, he eats lunch. I do my housework and he plays and then we read books and sing and he goes down again around 2:30. At 4:30 he eats a snack/light dinner and eats again between 7-8pm. The thing with Micah is that he doesn't really like to eat! He eats the very minimum amount and he had lost weight when he was sick so I am making sure he eats and keeps his weight up! Last night I told Rico that my baby doesn't have a six pack anymore... He now has a little beer belly! But I am just thrilled that he's back on a schedule and that the Doctor isn't concerned with his weight anymore.. She was concerned when he went for his 9 month check up but he had been sick. My baby is saying daddy now and other little words.. No "mama" yet but I'm sure it's coming!
Another thing I have been concentrating on this month is his academics... I know he's only 10 months but the babies learn so much when they are in daycare! I want to make sure my baby is just as advanced as they are... I have researched baby gyms and other ways I can make sure my baby is as social as others are. Now, Micah has many cousins that he sees on a regular basis. I just want him more on a schedule. I'll let you know next month what I come up with but right now, I think he'll be doing swimming lessons at the Y.. I'm going to check it out first. Micah and I read new books everyday.. We were so blessed to have such wonderful friends that gave us a huge box full of books! He's still going through them. He doesn't really like them right now because he has to sit still... But I am going to continue reading them to him! We've been going through the ABC flashcards this month as well! I know he doesn't quite understand them yet but he'll get there! I know that this may sound like I am doing too much but I just don't see how it could hurt. Soon, I will be going back to work and I won't be able to concentrate as fully as I can now. My baby seems to love most of it. Truth is, I don't really know what I am doing. I just want to make sure that Micah has all that he needs to succeed in life. I want to instill in him a foundation of learning. I hope and pray that I am doing enough and that my baby will be better because of all the activities I am pounding into him. I think all parents have their battles and this is just something that is very important to me.
Well until next month! =) (Hopefully I will post some walking! yay!!!)
