Micah's First Christmas

Micah is now 9 months old! Where has the time gone? We enjoyed his first Christmas this week! And how sweet it was that we had the first WHITE CHRISTMAS that I think that I ever had! And how lucky is Micah to have that as his first Christmas? Micah had so many gifts! Truth is he still has some that are in boxes that we haven't opened yet because he got so many! We're thrilled that he was able to enjoy his first Christmas! Lots of babies aren't able to because they are too little... NOT Micah! He loved all the attention he got at all of our families. This, by far, has been the best Christmas I have ever had!

I have to say though that it wasn't all perfect.. Poor Micah has been sick with the stomach virus. It spread like fire through our house! Rico's brother, girlfriend and baby stayed with us while they were home for Christmas and they also got the bug. Poor things! I swear that every time we see them, we get them sick! Then poor God Daddy John was up at 5am throwing up! ughh.. Talk about a j. o. b. cleaning all this mess up! lol. But I LOVE my family! Micah got to see Grandma & Grandpa [Ba Noi & Ong Noi] Cuc and Phu and then he got to see Great Grandma Lucille and Grandma Evette. It was a BUSY day for all of us. In addition he got to spend it with his uncle Clayon and God daddy John and God mama Kris. We had a full house! And everyone helped take care of sickly Micah.

Micah goes for his nine month check up next week, but so far he still only has the two bottom teeth. We can see that the top two teeth are cutting through now. Micah can stand on his own for a couple of minutes but he won't walk without his walker toys yet. He'll get down and crawl if his little walker toys don't take him where he wants to go. He's wearing 12 month clothes but the pants normally are too big in the waist. He babbles continuously but still hasn't really said his first words yet... He says ok... but do you really consider that his first word?? I guess it can be. I don't think I will though! lol. He knows how to get into my kitchen cabinets and take the pots out... UGHH... but he really is a sweet baby. He only wants me when he's sleepy or sick... Otherwise, He'll be going to the person he thinks will spoil him most! This could be Grandma Cuc or God Mama Kris or Aunt Mo. My baby is growing up sooo fast! I am so grateful for this time I have with him. My family means the world to me. I feel like the luckiest person in the world!

Micah's first Thanksgiving

Micah is 8 1/2 months old

As I sit here and type this blog, Micah is driving his daddy crazy by moving and wrestling with him... That wouldn't be so bad, but Rico's trying to feed Micah a bottle.. Micah can hold his own bottle, but he won't lay there long enough to finish it.. I think he may have ADD like his mommy(self-diagnosed)! lol My little man is growing up so fast! I swear he looks like a two year old! He's so tall and he moves around constantly!

As you can see in the picture above, Micah likes to put things in his mouth! ANY and EVERYthing that fits in his mouth gets put in his mouth! He doesn't just suck on his pacifier anymore.. He now tries to eat it! lol. Yesterday as we were going somewhere, I made his milk bottle and had taken off the lid to the water bottle.. As I finished, I couldn't locate the lid to the water bottle! I was frantically looking around for it and lo and behold.. The WHOLE thing was in Micah's mouth! This crazy kid!

Lately, I've been missing when Micah was smaller and would love to be held.. I have been loving holding his little cousins at Thanksgiving because it reminds me of how little Micah used to be. Neither one of them seem to be as active as Micah was at that age.. I cherish it because it went by so fast for me. Maybe it was because I was working then and didn't get to do it as often as I had liked. The boys just let me hold them and hug them.. Micah jumps out of my arms as fast as he possibly can nowadays. I LOVE how Micah is so independent and wants to do everything for himself. He's learning how to do things so quickly because of it. But the last couple of days, Micah has allowed me to just hold him and kiss him. It's been nice. I am cherishing it as long as I can. I think that I've been more emotional lately because I know that it's getting closer to time to go back to work and leave my baby. I wanted to stay home until he was one and he's eight and a half months now. Gotta start looking for a job if I want one by the time he's one. I've got to tell whoever that is reading this that this has been the best time of my life. I am sooo grateful for this time I have had with him.

Micah is still not talking yet.. He tries to mimic sounds and things we say but he hasn't gotten that down pat yet. He is in this stage now where he likes to grab your nose and lips... I have no idea why... He does it all the time! He's such a funny kid! I can't tell you how much personality he has! He's always laughing and playing and when he wants your attention, he'll let you know! (again, by grabbing your face!) He beats on everything he can (ie.. his little musical tables, high chair, computer).. He splashes you when he's in the tub.. I don't have enough room to type all the things he's doing now. He's just learning and growing. And doing way too much, way too fast for me!

Micah had his first Thanksgiving this past week.. I have no idea how it went by with NO pictures! AHHH! What in the world was going on? Micah had a little bit of everything.. He had chicken and turkey and homemade dressing, broccoli casserole, yams, macaroni and cheese, and cranberry sauce... I tried to give him itty bitty pieces so he wouldn't have to chew it. He did well! He seem to LOVE the yams!

Micah is and will always be our little baby... As I recall the last month or so, I realize how fast this time went by. Christmas will be here in less than a month. Micah's going to be one soon... I am just feeling lucky today. I have a lot to be grateful for. Guess this was a good Thanksgiving post!

Micah is almost 8 months

Micah is just growing so fast! My little baby has two teeth at the bottom of his little mouth. In this picture he's brushing his little teeth! He LOVES it! As you can see, he's sitting up very well! And he's crawling like a pro too! Man that little boy moves fast! I have finally had to put the gates up so that he can't get into the recycle bin in the kitchen anymore... I think he likes the sounds of all the glass and plastic hitting together lol. Micah now loves to climb on the tv stand and eject the playstation games and put them into his mouth.... YUCK! It also stinks because if you don't catch him in time and wash off the game then you won't be able to play it. He is still so stinking cute though... He looks up at you with his big ol' eyes! Ugh... sooo innocently... It's so hard to get mad and to remind him not to do that when he's looking at you like that! Yesterday we went and visited Anna Marie... Man she is GORGEOUS! She looks just like my best friend, Noelle. She even has her pretty dimples. Micah kept wanting to touch her little face... Micah doesn't know how to be gentle yet... I've also learned that my little boy likes playing with other babies now.... He plays with his cousins, Mia, Abby, Jennie and Zariah often... He saw Camden a couple of days ago and tried to play with him but Camden is still too little. Mia loves to carry Micah around.... It's funny because he's now half her size. He's not little anymore, Mia. lol. She loves him so much. She tries to keep him from putting things in his mouth and from going to places he isn't supposed to. Abby acts a little jealous right now... She has been THE baby for the last two years...

Anyway, Micah is now pulling himself up on EVERYTHING and he's pulling himself down... He does it 'oh so carefully' too. He takes his baths in the big bathtub and loves to play with his little rubber duckies. Micah can actually stand on his own, but he lacks the confidence to do it. He held on to my hair (not pulling it) and was standing... He also stood between Rico's legs yesterday without holding on.. When he figured out he wasn't holding on, he grabbed Daddy's legs. Micah is continually growing taller by the day and he's still skinny... Micah is not bony... he's significantly smaller waisted than his boy cousins though. But all in all our little boy is healthy and growing and learning so much. We are so blessed to have him. I love him more and more everyday. I never thought it was possible to love someone this much!

Micah is 7 Months!

Micah is now 7 months old and is crawling like a pro, pulling himself up on EVERYTHING and standing while holding on!

Thanks to Auntie Ebony and Derrick, Micah got some Halloween pictures done! He was able to take pictures with Zariah and Jenny, his cousins. Micah did well for the most part but he got sleepy and then cranky... That was my cue that he was done! lol. I am grateful that they allowed us to take part in that.

Later on that day, Noelle had her baby shower for baby Anna Marie! We're soo excited! Micah kept trying to pull up on all of Anna's gifts! He was crawling everywhere and playing with all of the toys that the other babies had. He seemed to have a good time! He had a long day with the photo shoot and then the baby shower! He fell asleep as soon as he got in the car!

This month has been quite a month for us! Micah has perfected his crawl, started to pull up on EVERYTHING, and is standing for longer periods of time. (While holding on of course!) But this month just seemed to go by so very fast! It seems like with every breath I take, he learns something new! This also means that he is pulling things off the shelves and the tv stand. And another thing that I have learned from this month is if he's quiet, then he's into something! Rico said he was watching tv the other morning and he noticed that it had gotten quiet... When he saw Micah, he had already chewed up a whole piece of paper! Rico yelled for me so that I could help him dig all that paper out of his mouth! GOODNESS! lol... Guess we'll need to make sure there isn't anything on the floor that he could eat!

So my boy is THE CUTEST little boy I think I have ever laid eyes on! Rico has talked to me about not spoiling him... He also told me to minimize my telling him how handsome he is... Let me tell you, that is VERY difficult! Rico just doesn't want him growing up being stuck up! I know he is right... It's just darn near impossible though! I am trying though! I know that I may be biased, but he is so CUTE! lol.. (technically, I am just blogging so this isn't telling him how cute he is!)

I try to take Micah outside everyday. I let him play with his toys and we normally do a little light reading. He's helping me turn the pages (too many at a time! But he's trying.), and he babbles along with me! I keep emphasizing "mama" and "daddy" in hopes that he will say it, but he hasn't quite yet. Rico says that when he starts talking, he'll never shut up. (he was implying that Micah got that from me) But that's okay. If it was so bad, then he wouldn't have married me right? lol.. Micah babbles a lot! It definitely eases my fears! I am always so worried if I am doing things right... you know, things to help him succeed! I hope I am! Rico and I are doing the best that we can so that he'll have a background in learning. We love our Micah and are so grateful for him!

Micah is 6 months old!

Today Micah got into the grocery cart for the first time!!! He was sooo happy! He also sat up by himself today and pulled himself up to stand!!! Soo many milestones in one day!!! What is a [very] proud mom to do??? (September 23, 2010)

Micah is growing so fast! As I type, he is rolling around on his playmat and onto the rug and then onto the floor. He is learning so much! I can not believe it! My days go by like seconds. Micah can crawl backwards now. But that doesn't mean though he doesn't get where he wants to go. Although Micah may not be able to crawl on his hands and knees forward, he can definitely stick his little tush in the air and move forward with his little feet! SOOO cute! Today, my little boy is sick. My poor little baby is coughing and sneezing and his little nose is running. He hates it when I wipe his nose. I hate to see him so sick! I also hate the lack of sleep I am getting! lol.. Last night he went to sleep around 11 pm and got up every two hours to eat!!! If you thought that was exhausting, the night before that, he screamed until 12am and got up EVERY hour! Needless to say, I am a little sleep deprived. But God is so good to me. As I look over at him, he's looking at me and playing with our next door neighbor, Zachary. What a joy it is to have another little boy to play with. Rico and I love Zachary!

As you can see he's holding his bottle now. We still have to help him with it, but he can do it when he wants to! Micah is turning over like a pro! He's also starting to try to pull up on things! Talk about stress! I have to watch him like a hawk! And can I also mention the fact that he touches EVERYTHING? When he's in his walker, he'll find stuff to pull down. Everything goes in his mouth!

My teething little boy. He doesn't suck on his thumb. Nope, he chews on it. He's sooo cute to me!

Micah loves to be naked.... Yeah... I guess that's something babies go through. But yeap, he loves it. He knows that when we take off his outfits, that it's bath time! This kid LOVES baths! He splashes water EVERYWHERE! I put him in the tub with me behind him yesterday and he loved it. We played with his little duckies and other toys. We may have a little Michael Phelps on our hands!!!

Micah was trying to reach for my camera phone.... This kids loves phones.. Don't leave yours laying around or it will be in his mouth!! And I don't know why but he screams all the time for the "fun of it"! Do all babies do this??? He thinks it's funny! You look at him and as soon as he sees that he has your attention, he starts cheesing! What in the world??? lol. It would be much more funny if he didn't have the lungs that he did... Nah, who am I kidding, it's sweet. Rico and I are so in love with this boy. We have so many high hopes for him!

September 24, 2010

Today Micah had his 6 month check up. He weighs 14 lbs 5 oz and is in the tenth percentile. He is 27 inches long and is in the 75% for height! We are so proud of our little man! He also got his first sippy cup today.... He's not quite used to that yet! lol He got his shots today and only cried for a minute, then he was cheerful and started playing again. We then had dinner at Sonnys Barbecue where Micah flirted with all the waitresses! One waitress even asked if we needed someone to watch him because he seemed like such a good baby! We are sooo lucky! =)

Micah is 5 months and a week old!

Micah fights sleep sooo badly! He had his hand on his rattle, then he'd lay his head down. Then he would start playing with the rattle again. He's so funny!

Micah loves being mobile! We'll definitely have our hands full when he starts crawling! He's already getting into everything now as it is! He is sooo sweet though! See that beautiful cheesy smile? It melts our hearts!

Micah's learning to blow raspberries! He's almost got it! He does it on accident right now!

Micah looks like his Great-Grandma! The tongue in his mouth and the double chin! We miss her so much! She would have LOVED Micah Ly to pieces! She really wanted Rico and I to have children!

Micah is almost 5 months! August 19, 2010

Micah Ly is 5 months old on Saturday!

Micah is 5 months on Saturday! I can not believe it! My boy is getting soo big, soo quickly! Micah is sitting up on his own now! We still use the bumbo just in case though. And Micah is the biggest flirt! I think he just likes it when people talk to him, but everyone else calls it flirting! Micah is the cutest thing on this earth!

Micah looks at the camera or cell phone when you snap the pictures now... He always looks so cross eyed because of it! He makes the cutest little faces and the cutest little coos. I take hundreds of pictures! He has changed so much since he was born! He's getting so big too. He is now wearing size 6-9 months in onesies because he's so long! In this picture he's sitting in his stroller without the car seat! He's so nosy that the travel system isn't good enough for him anymore. He isn't able to look out and see everything... Without the car seat in the stroller, he has more room for all of his toys!

Micah smiles and laughs. He's sooo stinkin cute! He's also teething both in both his top and bottom front teeth... He screams in the middle of the night sometimes from it bothering him... He doesn't like teething rings to be frozen... He will chew on absolutely anything that he can put his hands on!

Micah loves Kristin Corvette Rene Reid, his God Mommy! Sometimes the only way you can get him to look at you in a picture is to have her behind you. She loves him too! Micah knows who will give him all the attention he wants! lol

I don't know if you can see it here but his teeth are coming in. He slobbers on everything! He is also eating baby food for lunch and dinner. He seems to like applesauce, carrots, summer peaches and bananas. He does not like peas!

Micah can never sit still... I think he gets that from me. lol. Micah swings his legs up and down! And if you put him on his belly, he pushes his little tooshie up and rolls over.

Micah has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen! It's so cute how he looks up at you with those big eyes!

Micah is greedy and has to have ALL of his toys! He wants to play with all of them at the same time. It's so cute that he plays with toys now. He used to not be able to hold anything! My, they learn so fast!

Rico and I are loving Micah Ly more and more each day. He is growing and learning so much! At the end of the month I will be staying home with Micah. We've decided that this would be the best thing for our family. I am thrilled at the opportunity to take care of Micah and Rico and our house. Micah is growing so quickly. Rico and I struggle to really spend quality time with him. By the time we get home, we feed Micah, bathe him, and play with him just a little before he goes to bed. With me staying at home, I will be able to take good care of him so that when Rico gets home, he gets to actually spend quality time with him. I am so excited! Our little boy is the most important thing to us. It will be hard at first, but the outcome seems so worth it. Micah needs his Mommy and Daddy, and we are so grateful for this opportunity to spend more time with our most important asset, our Micah.

Micah is entertaining himself and meets new cousin, Camden!

Camden Lamar Conner is born! Micah's fifth cousin! They are four months apart. Micah kept wanting to touch Camden so we had to space them apart lol.

Micah is now entertaining himself! It used to be horrible! While driving, I had to keep his pacifier in his mouth! Do you know how much work that is? I didn't even know it could be done! lol. Micah used to start screaming when I would be out of his sight for over 5 minutes. It's now a lot longer... 10-15 minutes! Hey, do you know how much you can get done without a screaming baby in that amount of time? lol Micah is also eating more in the day time and sleeping longer at nights... it's now a feeding every 4-5 hours! Mommy is one happy lady! Rico's very helpful at nights, but I still wake up when they do. This is now easier on the whole family! Micah still loves his exersaucer and will stay in there for a while! I can get so much more work done now! But now when Micah cries, it's a longer checklist on what it could be... It used to be a little easier; Feed, burp, then change diaper. Now the list is as follows: has he been fed? does he need to be Changed? Is he Gassy? Cold? Hot? Does he want to sit up? Does he want to go to sleep?.... lol I am sure there will be more that needs to be added to that list. But with all that, Micah is sooo much more fun now! He mimics the little noises we make and my laugh! It soooo cute! He's also learned how to pick things up with his pointer finger and his thumb.... That one is a little bittersweet because he now can pick things up (YaY!) But he also likes to take the pacifier out of his mouth and then screams because he can't get it back in with the nipple part in his mouth! It's really funny unless it's two o'clock in the morning! Micah has the cutest smile! Can you tell that I am a little smitten with my infant? Micah is quite the character! Micah gets his four month check up tomorrow. So I may have another blog tomorrow! Until the next blog.....

Four months tomorrow! Mostly pics....

Can I just say how much I love my boys? Micah now eats solid foods all the time! He has eaten squash and sweet potatoes and mixed cereal with bananas. He still babbles up a storm and holds his self up like in a push-up position. He screams if you leave the room.

This was when Micah went swimming for the first time. We have a baby pool that he got in. (with me of course!) He didn't seem too amused lol. He just sat there. He's still so stinking cute in his swimming trunks!

He eyeballed Rico's bacon so he gave it to him! We tried to take it away and he cried! What in the world? We just let him suck on it for a little while! My slobbering ball of cuteness.

Daddy was feeding Micah and I was snapping as many pictures that he'd let me! Rico gets so tired of pics. I have to sneak them in! I swear, I LOVE my family! I am the luckiest girl in the world!
