Halloween-Christmas 2012 (33 months old)

I am Micah Ly Rendleman and I am OBSESSED with Angry Birds!

Micah who now is 33 months old is completely engulfed in anything that has to do with the 'Angry Birds' Phenomenon (an iPod/iPad app). When he is not playing the game on our phones or his iPad, he is humming the theme with whatever he is doing.

He is very well-behaved. I am baffled at how well he behaves with other children and in public. We've had a couple of incidences where he has fallen out in public, but it has passed. He holds our hands. He comes when we tell him to. He cleans up after himself. We're grateful.
Our young son, knows all of his alphabet, how to count, how to add single digits, and can tell the hour of an analog clock. He knows hundreds of nursery rhymes and sings all the time.

Micah runs and jumps where ever he goes and is always full of energy. He still takes his two-hour naps daily or is super grouchy. He can throw the ball around 10 feet and catch. He will tackle anyone with a ball and sometimes without a ball.

Micah is 2 years old!

Micah is now 2!

I cannot believe how much time has passed by since my last post. I am thoroughly enjoying motherhood and staying home with my sweet toddler. I feel like I am busy ALL the time and rarely get the chance to regroup, much less stay on top of what has been going on in our lives. Micah is almost 2. He will turn 2 on March the 21st. He knows so much and astonishes me with new knowledge and skills every day. Yesterday, we were at Uncle Quang, and Aunt Bobbie's house and played in the street for hours with cousins, Mia, Abby and baby Quang Jr. We threw balls around. We ran and jumped and played in the little tykes car. (I call it the the fred flinstone car) We school almost everyday. We use starfall.com, leapfrog dvds, and netflix and we love it. Micah can say all of his abc's in order. He recognizes each letter AND tells you what each letter of the alphabet sounds like. He sings to you the vowels. He COUNTS EVERYTHING! Whether it be strands of grass or each step he takes on EVERY set of stairs, he counts it all! He can count all the way up to 25. He'll then proceed to start over and do it again with whatever is in front of him. He knows colors and some shapes (2D & 3D Shapes!). He recognizes numbers and can spell simple words! He also knows most animals... Cat, Dog (of course) but he also knows elephant, alligator, monkey, donkey etc.. etc... He's a smart boy. I am just amazed at the life that God has allowed us to parent. We love him so much! We don't love him because he knows all these things. We love him because he is me and Rico in one complete human being. He's completely amazing.
Micah is very much like me. He loves to talk. He loves to be around people. He is VERY affectionate. He loves to hug and throw his cheek in your face for a kiss. He runs to people he loves. But he is also very much like Rico. Rico is a born leader. He does what he wants to do and people follow. Rico and Micah make whatever it is that they are doing look like it's the funnest thing in the world. Even if it's something that we do daily and not even think about it. Micah is very particular. He likes to eat only certain things. He does not like everybody. He likes most people, but not everyone. He isn't a risk taker. He's not going to just go to something new and start playing with it unless he knows it's safe. He doesn't like to go places where he can't see me. That's Rico. Rico is very smart. He catches on to things very quickly but taking risks.... that's not him and it isn't Micah either.
Micah can do... well, I think the list will be shorter if I name things he can't do. Such as potty training! Man, it SUCKS! Micah doesn't like being put on the potty. I tried to take him every 30 minutes (which is EXHAUSTING!). He would just scream and cry. I tried to bribe him with m&ms... He would eat as many as he wanted and then get up. I tried to spank him one time and it made him not even get on the toilet for DAYS! He's a stubborn little thing and I hope and pray he will get this SOON! lol. Yes, yes... he may not be ready... UGHH... We'll get there.... I'm just not a patient person... Can you tell?
Life is such a great adventure. I am so thankful that I am saved. I am thankful for my husband who takes care of me and Micah the best way he knows how. And I am grateful for life. God is so Good!
